Wedding Photography

I began photographing weddings professionally in 2000. My clients love my candid style (often called photojournalistic) and unobtrusive omnipresence. My talents for composition and lighting are equalled by my ability to capture definitive moments. I have been told I am a ‘calming presence’ in the chaos and emotion of the wedding day. I love what I do, I love working with people, I love to be part of a day that is so important to you.

Ninety percent of what I do would be considered candid or photojournalistic photography. I am also very good at posing people. I have a system for expediting the ‘formals’, or posed group photos at a wedding. I like to be creative with some of these photos, using the unique characteristics of the setting to create compositions that flow with the background. As a yoga teacher I also am especially adept at helping people find comfortable and beautiful alignment.

At this point in my career I am interested in clients who really love my work. In return for your enthusiasm I offer an easy to understand service and price. I put my full attention into each wedding by researching the venues and gathering a list of important moments and people from you. I show up on your special day and document the day artistically, candidly, and thoroughly. After your wedding I will spend several hours going through the hundreds of photographs I have taken and editing them. This process includes organizing and color-balancing all the photos and minor digital enhancements to some of the photos.

Once the photos are ready I post them online through a professional photographer’s service called Pictage where you can share the photos with friends and family, and also purchase a full line of high quality enlargements and albums. The web site is available for three months, at which point I send you a DVD with all of your image files at high resolution that you can take to the photo lab or play with and print on your own computer. I also keep copies of your image files so you can order from me at any time in the foreseeable future.

I also offer several lines of wedding albums including design. I have been using Photoshop and other digital editing software sing 1994 (does anyone remember Photoshop 2.5?). I do graphic and web design on the side, and am really great at creating beautiful layouts for wedding albums.
